Collaborative projects cross stitch instagram challenge
After #plancanard, La Maison du Canevas et de La Broderie was delighted to once again partner with Instagram creators @poignetamour and @le_barbu_qui_brode for their new #planrenard challenge. This time, the artists thought big!
A little history: #plancanard.
- In September 2021, Stéphane (le_barbu_qui_brode) and Juliet (poignetamour) reached out to La Maison du Canevas et de la Broderie to present their slightly crazy project: launching a collaborative embroidery challenge on Instagram. Each participant had to embroider a duck in a specific shape and take a fun photo of it. The ultimate goal: create a video juxtaposing all the photos so the duck appears to dance.
- The whole team was won over by the idea, and we chose to sponsor the operation by offering a little something to every participant, as well as sharing their various photos on Instagram. You can discover the full album of all the stories and posts from #plancanard featured on our Instagram page.
- In total, more than 80 people joined the adventure, and our customer service team even made 3 ducks! Throughout October, Instagram walls were filled with charming ducks and fun photos! You can see the result of this fabulous adventure in the video opposite, featuring a duck with rhythm in its soul.
A new adventure: #planrenard
- In 2022, Stéphane (le_barbu_qui_brode) and Juliet (poignetamour) thought even bigger and once again trusted La Maison du Canevas et de La Broderie as a partner for #planrenard!
- We decided to support them again by offering, this time directly on our website, 2 special kits for participants: 1 pack with the 10 skeins needed to complete the piece, and 1 complete kit including the skeins, a piece of fabric (enough for 2 foxes) and a 10cm embroidery hoop.
A resounding success! Launch of the parallel #Planrenard contest
- #planrenard became a victim of its own success! In just a few hours, the target of 200 participants was reached and even exceeded, with 550 entries, 350 of which were accepted.
- To avoid disappointing anyone, we launched a parallel Instagram contest, #planrenard, open to everyone in collaboration with @poignetamour and @le_barbu_qui_brode. To take part, embroiderers had to stitch one of the Fox designs and take an original photo of it.
- Out of more than 130 photos received, our entire team selected 10 finalists, who were then decided by votes from Instagram users.

- In the end, more than 330 embroiderers from over 18 different countries took part in this challenge, producing more than 364 photos.
- We invite you to watch the final video opposite or on our YouTube channel, and above all to like, comment on, and share in your story the Reel by @poignetamour to feed the Instagram algorithm and help this fabulous project travel across the web.
- A big thank you to @poignetamour and @le_barbu_qui_brode for inviting us to take part in this challenge, and see you soon for new adventures.
