After #plancanard and #planrenard, we’re excited to share a new group embroidery experience on Instagram: #defibroderieforet with @angeliquepointdecroix (also known on Twitch under the handle mavienormale). Here’s everything about this year-long project, which we’re proud to be part of.

A brilliant idea from angeliquepointdecroix

YouTuber, Instagrammer and Twitch streamer, Angélique is passionate about crafts and shares that passion with her communities across various social networks. Last September, she went looking for a project to keep her busy throughout 2023 and found the Riolis Forest Calendar Kit on our site. She shared the idea with her cross-stitch community and brought many people along with her on this #defibroderieforet adventure.

In early January, we were tagged in @angeliquepointdecroix‘s lovely photo of the first square, and discovered her account and, more importantly, her project. That’s when we understood our customers’ sudden enthusiasm for this kit.

We loved the idea and shared it on Instagram. We also offered to give away the calendar kit to one lucky person on the same platform. But we didn’t stop there!

A year-long experience to share together

Angélique’s project won us over. We believe this is a real opportunity for you to carve out a creative bubble of a few hours each month to stitch your square and share the experience with other embroiderers. So we were keen to support you throughout this adventure.

12 months – 12 squares – 12 contests – 12 gifts

We got in touch with the Riolis brand to tell them about this challenge, and they loved it too! They decided to join in by sending us 12 gorgeous kits as prizes! So we invited @angeliquepointdecroix to partner with us on this challenge and offer participating embroiderers 12 contests on Instagram – one per month! The idea is simple: before the last day of the current month, post a photo of your square for the month (beautiful, fun, styled however you like…). @angeliquepointdecroix and La Maison du Canevas et de La Broderie will select 8 photos. Then, voting will take place in the form of story battles!

In short, to take part you need to:

stitch your square for the month from the Riolis Forest Calendar Kit
take a (nice and sharp) photo of your square, letting your imagination run wild (no need to make it complicated)
post it on Instagram, tagging @angeliquepointdecroix, @riolis_worldwide and @lamaisonducanevas. Be sure to add #defibroderieforêt to identify your entry. (Remember, your account must be public for us to see the photo).

Voting will take place over the following days in @angeliquepointdecroix‘s stories, and the prize will be sent by La Maison du Canevas et de La Broderie once we receive the winner’s address. The following month’s contest will then begin. We’ll announce the prize up for grabs just before voting opens on our page.
